Consent Is Key
Do not modify builds or use items from other players without their permission via voice, text, or a sign they placed. If no explicit or obvious permission is given, assume you can't use/take/modify it. Every action you do is logged, we will find out and roll your actions back with a single command.No Hacking
Using any software or tool to gain an unfair advantage or allowing the ability to do an action that would otherwise be impossible such as flight, x-ray, easy place (placing blocks with no supports), etc.
However, we do allow:
- Lighting mods (e.g., full bright, shaders)
- Quality-of-life mods (e.g., mini-maps with cave view disabled)
- Performance mods (e.g., sodium)
- Auto clickers/holders, as long as they don’t have movement, aiming, or inventory management logic.
- Freecam (so long as you don't use it to cheat like looking underground. We allow it for purposes such as taking screenshots of builds or spectating events)
No Exploits
Do not use unintended exploits to gain an advantage in the game. We also don't allow using F3 data to find caves/dungeons because it appears as xray to us. If you discover an unintended exploit please report it in our discord.
We have intentionally added some bugs from b1.7.3 which we DO allow:
- Sand/gravel (gravity block) dupers
- Any form of block transmutation (not all types are implemented, such as using flowing water for certain wool colors)
- Update suppression
- Headless / bodyless / six-sided pistons
- Breaking bedrock with pistons
Be Considerate With Your Builds
Please do not build above other players (land) builds without their permission. If you want to build floating structures it must be over where no one has built yet. One exception being low to land bridges attached to the ground with supports going over builds, but again be considerate, make sure the supports don’t impact their build. Please also be as respectful as possible about neighboring builds. In general, think about if you were the neighbor, would you be happy about your build being next to yours?Keep real life at the door
Please refrain from discussion/builds/names relating to real/specific divisive current events, wars, politics, religions, and drugs. We want Modern Beta to be a place where you can escape from real life and have fun all together here. Just play block game and mostly discuss block game.Make your plans obvious to others.
We do not use claim plugins in favor of having an open feel server and allowing us to find out who the bad actors are for a better community at the end of the day. One down side of this is that sometimes you may have a large build planned that will take a while, so it is up to YOU to make this plan obvious to others. Imagine you are the other player stumbling upon the area, is it clear for you to know that someone has plans here? (ex. signs saying "CLAIMED BY [USER]" placed very frequently or a clear border/wall to where they will 100% see it while you are under construction) - if you fail to do this it will not be their fault, and up to them if they are willing to have their build moved elsewhere.- TLDR: No stealing, no griefing, no hacking, no duplication (except sand/gravel), and just be a nice human playing block game.

Trying to take players/users from our services is not allowed, an example of this is using the ModernBeta discord to Private Message other members links to your platforms. Discord links sent in the discord are automatically removed and will kick you if spammed.No Phishing
Even if its a joke, do not send messages to trick another user into providing sensitive information or pretending to be someone/something else in general, such as a staff member for example. You don't know who is on the other end and if they will know you're joking or not.
